2010 Medicine Hat Bantam and Pee Wee rep teams

 2010 Rep team play has come to a conclusion.  Congratulations to both the Bantam and Pee Wee rep teams for their hard work and excellent job in representing our association.  The Pee Wee rep team won Gold at Provincials while the Bantam rep team lost out in a tiebreaker to get into the playoffs.  Thank you to all the players, coaches and parents for your hard work and dedication.
2010 Medicine Hat High School fastpitch league

The inaugural season of the Medicine Hat High school fastpitch league has sadly come to an end.  A big thanks to all the players, parents and volunteers for making this such a great first year.  We can't wait for next year, things look very bright for softball in Medicine Hat and the surrounding area.  We are looking for other teams to join our league next year.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the High School director, Sherry Lait, @ slait@canopycanada.net and/ or send an email to pres@medhatminorsoftball.ab.ca
                                                    
Mission Statement

Medicine Hat Minor Softball association, a member of the Alberta Amateur Softball Association (AASA) and an affiliate of Softball Alberta, is a non-profit organization which strives to promote the sport of softball, fitness, young leaders, camaraderie and the concept of team sports within our community. The Medicine Hat Minor Softball Association was incorporated under the Societies Act on November 4, 1993.

Our Mandate

House League
The mandate of the Association in regards to house league is to give boys and girls between the ages of 4 and 20 the opportunity to play organized softball. The emphasis shall be on fun and fair play regardless of ability.

Provincial Rep Teams
Provincial teams are groups of twelve to fourteen keenly interested ball players and their coaching staff who wish to represent the City of Medicine Hat and the Medicine Hat Minor Softball Association at tournaments and events throughout the country. They will be committed to the extra effort required physically, mentally and financially. They will strive to achieve their highest personal goals, and team goals representing their community.



COME BACK OFTEN TO OUR WEBSITE AS WE HAVE GREAT PLANS for the future including a number of softball skills camps in the fall of 2009 and the spring on 2010. Our plans also include coaching clinics and umpire clinics, in the New Year, and hopefully in early 2010 we will be able to start the Softball Alberta “Learn to play” program in several Elementary schools within the City. In the “Learn to Play” program Students will be taught the basics of softball in school gym classes and hopefully with the knowledge gained this will spark more interest in the sport and our association.

WE are always looking for great new ideas to increase the profile of our sport and the numbers of players who participate in the game so if you have any great ideas please pass them onto the President or any other of the executive members. YOUR SUPPORT IS GREATLY APPRECIATED.
